The extremely popular rival to the Apple iPhone 4S, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, is a phone that will continue to be popular for many moons yet. When you start looking at the technology in the phone, it’s easy to understand why that is exactly. The 4.6inch touch-screen is built with AMOLED technology, with 1280x720 resolution. For the benefit to those of us who that means simply numbers and letters, it’s stunning. When you look at the screen, you’ll immediately understand that AMOLED and 1280x720 are characters with a true and tangible meaning.
The phone is also capable of capturing video’s in 1080p quality from the phone’s back end camera and 720p from the front. That’s about perfect for replaying the video’s on any screen you can get your hands on and makes video chat ridiculously clear. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is also the first Android phone to run 4.0, also known as, Ice Cream Sandwich. This release is a major thing in mobile phone land, as it really brings Android handsets into a similar playing field to the iPhone. Ice Cream sandwich runs smoother and loads webpages much faster than its predecessors and is generally a brilliant update. All running on the Nexus’ 1.2GHz processor.
Design wise, the Galaxy Nexus is a stunning handset, with the above mentioned screen stealing the show. But apart from that, the phone is extremely thin, measuring just 8.9mm, which fits perfectly in the hand. It also weighs 135g, which is about normal and slightly less than its closest rival.
All the buttons on the handset are well laid out and useful (which surprisingly a problem some other handsets have).
Any how, the PIN code isn’t the be all and end all, and overall the handset is a wonderful release from Samsung and will continue to sell bucket loads from years.
When the secondary market really starts to pick up, handset unlocking will really start to become a necessity. With the phones being locked to their original networks, using them on one that your familiar with will really start to restrict the handset you can buy. To unlock Samsung Galaxy Nexus handset’s, you will need an unlock code. Search for sites that can unlock Samsung phones and you’ll be quickly on to a winner.
